Accreditation as an exercise physiologist is the mark of an experienced and qualified health professional.
Awarded exclusively by Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) to university qualified health professionals who have met the stringent accreditation criteria set by the organisation. In addition, if you wish to be a Medicare, Department of Veterans’ Affairs, Health fund or WorkCover provider, you must have an exercise physiology accreditation with ESSA.
NUCAP Graduates
Graduates from an accredited NUCAP course are eligible for exercise physiology accreditation, you must be an exercise science (full) member and you must have satisfied the exercise physiology criteria listed in the application form.

* To gain accreditation as an accredited exercise physiologist you are required to be an exercise science member.

Applicants for accredited exercise physiology must submit clinical placement logbooks for all hours completed after 1 January 2008 for each of the following three areas:
- apparently healthy;
- cardiopulmonary/metabolic; and
- musculoskeletal/ neurological.
