Who can join ESSA?
To join ESSA you must fall into one of the following categories:
Undertaking a degree in the field of exercise and sports science.
A graduate of an accredited NUCAP degree or a graduate of a degree from the field of exercise and sports science which has meet the required units of study. This membership is a prerequisite for accreditation as an exercise physiologist or sports scientist.
Open to academics teaching in an exercise or sports science related degree.
Open to those who cannot be an exercise science member, but hold a degree in a field related to exercise and sports science.
Members of ESSA are able to apply to be a fellow. It recognises those who have achieved a high level of professional accomplishment, responsibility and service to the association.
Members of ESSA are able to apply for life membership. Life membership recognises a distinguished level of service and commitment to the association.
Accredited Exercise Physiologist
A specialist accreditation for those working in a clinical setting. Being an exercise scientist member of ESSA is a prerequisite for this accreditation.
Accredited Sports Science
A specialist accreditation for those working in the sports science industry. Being an exercise scientist member of ESSA is a prerequisite for this accreditation.

As a member can I use the ESSA logo?
ESSA requires that prior to using the associations logo members complete a terms and conditions of use form. Financial exercise science (Full) members can utilise the standard ESSA logo and/or the full member logo. Financial accredited members can utilise the standard ESSA logo and/or the accredited exercise physiologist logo.
