Case Studies - ERAA Provider

Kyle Beavis - Accredited Exercise Physiologist
Adaptive Physiotherapy

Why did you decide to take part in the ERAA Grants?
I thought the ERAA program would serve as a great catapult for promoting my falls prevention class that I run. I’m quite passionate about helping older citizens continue with their independence through the promotion of exercise. In addition, as Dapto is of a lower socioeconomic class, the cost of our service is often a barrier to them. In turn, it was hoped that the discounted classes would encourage more people to at least trial the class and give them ideas on what they can do at home.

How did you go about filling those class numbers up?
We had prior clients in the falls prevention class already, however, the expansion of the class really occurred from the fantastic work of the ESSA team. Once we had a couple of new clients attending the classes, word of mouth helped us build from there.

How are you finding the grants so far – has it benefited your business and do you think it will continue to help even after the grants are finished?
The ERAA program has helped Adaptive Physiotherapy. It’s allowed people, who likely would not have accessed the program due to financial strains, the opportunity to engage in an exercise class, learn new exercises and socialise with others. We have also had ERAA participants continue on with the falls prevention class after completing their 12 sessions which is pleasing to see!
