C.A.S.E – Collaborative Approach to the Science of Exercise

C.A.S.E. is a learning opportunity for our accredited exercise professionals to gain valuable experience across every aspect of the exercise intervention process. Below are a number of case studies to provide you with a multidisciplinary perspective and approach to exercise interventions.


As new C.A.S.E events become available, details will be linked and published below. C.A.S.E sessions are ESSA learning activities and are eligible for ESSA CPD under Further Education with a completed self-assessment tool. To claim CPD points (1 point per learning hour) you will be required to upload the completed self-assessment tool to your electronic logbook for each Chat.

An Accredited Exercise Scientist, Deborah Lawrence discusses two key topics

  1. Discussion of a client's journey from referral to long training outcomes for lower back pain. In this CASE, Deborah worked alongside a physiotherapist and an AEP to get to best outcome for the client.
  2. A snapshot of building community relationships when building a business or opening a new clinic.

An Accredited Exercise Scientist/Accredited Exercise Physiologist talks about his approach to multidisciplinary care in mental health. Learn how to take the right steps to ensure you can be a valuable treatment provider in a collaborative approach to mental health rehabilitation. Understand and clearly explain your role in the treatment team which will lead to securing more referrals from respected psychologists and psychiatrists. We look at a specific case of a client with severe Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder with direct quotes from both the client and referring psychologist.

The EMP Onsite team provided an overview of their injury prevention programs and their proactive measures to manage OH&S risk and protect the wellbeing and safety of employees. Considerations in developing a quality program for large businesses, such as buy-in to the program, functional movement analysis, risk assessments and working collaboratively as a multidisciplinary team, were discussed.
