This unit will explore Depression, Anxiety and Obsessive Compulsive disorder. The unit will cover: 
Symptoms and presentations
Co-morbidities occurring with the diagnoses
Evidence-based exercise recommendations
Specific considerations for exercise prescription within diagnoses
Treatment options and the impact on consumers

Completion of this unit will result in the following learning outcomes: 
Understanding of different mental illness diagnoses and their co-morbidities
Knowledge of the evidence around exercise prescription
Knowledge of the treatment options available and how treatments may impact on your client/consumer/athlete

Presented by Ebony Darge, AEP, BExSportSc, MClinExPhys 

Ebony is a senior exercise physiologist working within the disability/community health field and in a private hospital setting. She has experience working in the areas of neurological and musculoskeletal rehabilitation, chronic disease management, paediatrics and geriatrics and occupational rehabilitation. She has also been working with individuals with a mental health diagnosis for over 3 years, implementing exercise as supplemental therapy to assist with the management of symptoms associated with mental health conditions, with a large focus on building functional capacity and improving quality of life outcomes. Ebony is passionate about advocating for enhanced mental health consumer access to allied health services as part of standard care and adopting a person-centred approach to healthcare that builds strong therapeutic relationships and meaningful change.
