ESSA Info Session: Workers Compensation fees order for EP

On 27 May 2022, SIRA gazetted a new fees order for exercise physiology to provide treatment services for injured workers. Whilst the fees order is better than the original proposal presented in late 2020, it falls short of providing what ESSA asked for. The fees order comes into effect from 1 August 2022.

During this session, ESSA:
a. Outlines the advocacy that has been undertaken over the last 19 months
b. Detailed the key messages for ongoing advocacy
c. Explained how you can get involved in advocacy on this issue
d. Showcased resources to support delivery of value-based healthcare.

ESSA has repeatedly recommended that the fees order continue to provide exercise physiologists with the capacity to provide evidence-based treatment for injured workers.

Presented by Jeffrey Allen, ESSA Manager, Policy and Advocacy and Judy Powell, ESSA Senior Policy and Advocacy Advisor
