Regulations Advisor

ESSA is looking for a Regulations Advisor on a permanent, full-time basis.

Key responsibilities

Duties include:

  • Support the development, review and implementation of quality individual accreditation requirements to be used by the professions represented by ESSA  
  • Support accreditation activities pertaining to ESSA’s accredited professionals 
  • Provide support and guidance to working groups supporting the annual workplan  
  • Provide support to projects as defined by the Manager-Regulations relating to accreditation.

Course Accreditation Reviewer

ESSA is seeking expressions of interests for multiple Course Accreditation Reviewers. Course Accreditation is a core function of ESSA. Course accreditation reviewers are a group of experienced academics and practitioners from which accreditation review teams are selected. Review teams are responsible for assessing course accreditation applications and recommending outcomes to the Course Accreditation Committee (CAC).

Key responsibilities

  • Developing a comprehensive understanding of ESSA’s course accreditation requirements, standards, application documents, and relevant policies and processes
  • The timely review of application material
  • Engaging in the review of potentially up to two course accreditation applications per year
  • Working collaboratively with other course accreditation reviewers and the Course Accreditation Manager

About you

The appointment of reviewers is by the CAC and will be made based on the selection criteria, maintaining an overall spread of expertise within the course accreditation reviewer group, and in as much as possible, consideration representation from a spread of universities.

Essential criteria for an academic reviewer:

  • At least five years’ experience as a practising AEP, AES or SpSc
  • Ability to demonstrate currency in clinical practice and/or experience in supervising exercise and sports science and/or exercise physiology students
  • Experience in university teaching, course development and/or student assessment
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team

Essential criteria for a practitioner reviewer:

  • At least five years’ experience as a practising AEP, AES or SpSc
  • Ability to demonstrate currency in clinical practice and/or experience in supervising exercise and sports science and/or exercise physiology students
  • Experience in university teaching, course development and/or student assessment
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team

Review team members will need to invest approximately five to six full working days throughout the review process, per application. Honorariums are paid for both reviewing course accreditation applications and for participating in accreditation visit events..

Partnerships Manager

ESSA is seeking expressions of interests for a newly created partnerships role, on a permanent full-time basis. 

Key responsibilities

  • Work with internal stakeholders regarding the strategy desire around partnerships 
  • Identifying, developing and winning new relationships with government, healthcare and NGO sectors. 
  • Nurturing and growing existing relationships with government, healthcare, and NGO sectors. 
  • Staying abreast of, and feeding back to internal units to enable ESSA to orient its services and programs accordingly.
  • Meet agreed on revenue growth targets through a combination of organic growth with existing partnerships, new funding and new service model development/partnerships. 
  • Assist with Embed ESSA’S values into all work

About you

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, NFP studies or other related field.
  • Demonstrable experience developing successful partnership / sponsorship agreements.
  • Innovative approach to partnership development; creative, collaborative and sustainable outcomes. 
  • High level commercial acumen, advanced negotiation and contract management skills. 
  • Excellent relationship management skills across complex senior stakeholder groups. 
  • Collaborative working style, with exceptional interpersonal skills. 
  • A proactive and action driven professional attitude and approach with the ability to generate ideas, think innovatively, challenge the status quo and problem solve.

Governance Officer/Assistant Company Secretary

ESSA is seeking expressions of interests for a government management opportunity, on a permanent full-time basis. 

Key responsibilities

  • Governance
  • Strategy
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Secretariat responsibility for National Board and Board Committees
  • Manage ESSA’s policy management framework including monitoring policies for review, maintaining delegation schedules and alignment with compliance obligations.
  • Provide high level support to the Board and CEO in the development and delivery of other strategic projects.
  • Support all reporting requirements for the organisation’s governance, risk, and compliance requirements.

About you

  • Previous experience in supporting corporate governance structures.
