Regulations Advisor

This role is being offered on a permanent, full-time basis.

Our ESSA office is based in Hamilton, Queensland, however we are open to provide a fully remote/working from home opportunity in another Australian state/territory. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Team leader responsibilities
  • Support the development, review and implementation of quality individual accreditation requirements to be used by the professions represented by ESSA 
  • Support accreditation activities pertaining to ESSA’s accredited professionals
  • Provide support and guidance to working groups supporting the annual workplan
  • Provide support to projects as defined by the Manager-Regulations relating to accreditation 
  • Monitor statistics and trends in members gaining and keeping accreditation

About you

  • Proven ability in the implementation and control of projects 
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse data and research and prepare reports, briefing papers and other complex documentation.

Senior Policy Advisor

This role is permanent, on a full-time basis.

Qualifications and Experience 

  • Demonstrates ESSA’S organisational values
  • Degree in Health Policy, Allied Health or Exercise and Sports Science  
  • Excellent interpersonal skills  
  •  Experience working with governments, advocacy organisations, NGO’s and regulatory bodies  
  • Demonstrated ability to construct policies and/or practices 
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts.  
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication 
  • Ability to navigate complex processes and environments 

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Advise on policy and advocacy strategies at the Federal government level that impact ESSA and ESSA members. 
  • Strengthen key relationships and partnerships with government, non-government organisations, national advocacy agencies, research institutions and funding agencies to deliver the best possible outcomes for ESSA and ESSA members. 
  • Drive industry and policy change by responding to proposed changes to policy, regulations and legislation in federal policy which align with ESSA’s priority areas and corporate strategic goals. 
  • Support members working in the industry to understand and work within changes to health systems and processes. 
  • Collaborate and liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to address specific issues influencing the viability of businesses managed by ESSA members and the day to day practice of our members

Project Officer - NASRHP

This role is being offered on a 3 year fixed-term, part-time basis.

Our ESSA office is based in Hamilton, Queensland, however we are open to provide a fully remote/working from home opportunity in another Australian state/territory. 
The project officer will provide secretariat services to the National Alliance of Self-Regulating Health Professions (NASRHP). The role is funded through a contract relationship with ESSA and NASRHP. 

Secretariat support activities:

  • Administration of Board meeting – Setting up of SharePoint for Board, Agenda and Minutes 
  • Delivery, in collaboration with the assigned board member, deliver on actions from Board meeting 
  • High level project administration 
  • Coordination of Member Organisation communication 
  • Coordination of applications for Membership, including communication and coordination of Assessors; 
  • Management of incoming communication from internal and external sources; 
  • Maintenance of NASRHP website 

About you

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • The ability to demonstrate ESSA's organisational values
  • Previous experience in providing administrative support
  • Understanding of standards and assessment of standards 
  • Proven ability in the implementation and control of projects
  • The ability to work autonomously
