Policy & Advocacy Manager

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and communicate the organisations overall value proposition for all members and accredited professionals
  • Drive all lobbying and advocacy efforts to continue the strong competitive position
  • Provide strategic advice to the Executive Team and Board on business improvements
  • Develop & monitor an annual budget and related financial performance
  • Oversee a team, including setting goals, objectives and being the architect of the framework for the team
  • Coach and mentor a high performing team of experts
  • Support the CEO, board and numerous committees with advice and future direction for the division

Member Development Advisor (Exercise Science) - Part Time

We’re looking for an experienced Member Development Advisor (Exercise Science) to join ESSA’s high performing Member Services team on a part time basis (0.5 FTE).

Reporting directly to the Member Services Manager, our ideal candidate is:

  • Self-motivated and able to identify member support needs
  • Experienced in delivering member support resources and services
  • Project management skills

Key responsibilities:

  • To provide high quality support, advice, resources and education with an exercise science focus to ESSA members
  • To provide high level services that will generate opportunities and support members’ ability to practice within exercise science

Assessment Officer – 6 Month Fixed-Term Contract
Due to continuing growth, we’re looking for an experienced Assessment Officer to join ESSA’s high performing Regulation team. This role is initially a 6 month fixed-term contract with strong possibility for extension.

Reporting directly to the Regulation Manager, our ideal candidate is:

  • Methodical and process-driven
  • Self-motivated to work to a high professional standard
  • Capable of implementing policy with a member support mindset

Key responsibilities:

  • Assess and collaboratively manage individual accreditation applications and graduate entry assessments against the appropriate Standards
  • Provide service and support to accreditation applicants and respond to related enquiries from individuals
  • Contribute to the development of associated procedures and support materials

HR Officer
As the team continues to expand and embed best practice HR, an experienced HR Officer is required to join the operations team in this very hands on and customer centric role.

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, our ideal candidate will:

  • understand the importance of best practice and customer centricity in a business that put their people and customers at the heart of every decision
  • have a strong moral compass and are values driven
  • have excellent stakeholder engagement skills with very polished communication delivery

  • Employee experience - By collaborating with Leaders in the business you will enhance the entire employee lifecycle experience
  • Learning and development - Build on existing leadership framework by developing training, technical skills, behavioural competencies, success planning, emerging leader programs and more
  • Streamline processes - Collaboratively work with the payroll function to improve processes around employee contracts, updating data and adjusting salaries
