Policy & Advocacy Advisor
We’re looking for a Policy & Advocacy Advisor to join ESSA’s Policy & Advocacy team full-time. This role is diverse, with a range of duties and projects. This role has a key focus on the NDIS and Aged Care, and how ESSA can shape policy and have a strong advocacy presence within these sectors.
Reporting directly to the Manager – Policy & Advocacy, responsibilities include:
- Development and delivery of policies, key projects, funding programs and innovation
- Drive industry and policy change by identifying key stakeholders and engaging them in ESSA advocacy
- Investigate, analyse and review complex and sensitive information to make appropriate determinations, ensuring compliance with policy and guidelines
About you
Our ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Able to demonstrate ESSA’S organisational values
- Tertiary qualification in related discipline
- Excellent wide-ranging interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships with staff, community and industry representatives
- Passion for policy and advocacy and influencing real change

Project Officer (Standards)
We’re looking for an experienced project officer who is degree qualified in Exercise and Sports Science to join our Regulations Services team. This role is diverse, with a range of duties and projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Exploring future needs and opportunities for profession scopes of practice, and ESSA’s strategic approach to scopes
- Developing a task delegation framework to outline clinically appropriate delegation from Accredited Exercise Physiologists to other exercise professionals, and support workers
- Developing resources to support best practice note taking and report writing
About you:
Essential:
- Tertiary qualifications in Exercise & Sports Science
- Demonstrated ability to analyse data and research and prepare reports, briefing papers and other complex documentation.
- Project management skills, including coordinating multiple projects and maintain project schedules
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and consult with key stakeholders
- Ability to prioritise, multi-task, and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills
Desirable:
- Knowledge and/or previous experience in quality assurance and risk management systems
- Demonstrated experience in governance administration
- Knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance or accreditation processes

Marketing and Communications Manager
We are looking for an energetic and motivated Marketing and Communications Manager to be an integral part of a team who create, strengthen, develop, and implement strategies that raise awareness of ESSA and its services. This role is diverse and reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing key inputs into business strategies including public relations programs, regulatory change, product and service propositions
- Accountability for taking ESSA’s services to market and scaling and amplifying its success into the existing member base
- Creation of advertising and communication tools for online and offline channels
- Leading, coaching and developing the marketing team
About you:
- Tertiary qualification in Marketing or Communications or other relevant discipline
- Ability to think and act strategically and offer the leadership skills that enable you to influence across the organisation
- Excellent wide-ranging interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships with staff, community, and industry representatives
- Proven ability in the implementation and control of business plans and budgets
- Exemplary written and verbal communication skills
- Able to demonstrate ESSA’S organisational values
