AEP Professional Standards
Across 2020, ESSA has been working to revise the 2015 AEP Professional Standards, and is seeking to consult the ESSA membership and key stakeholders during November 2020. The AEP Professional Standards describe the knowledge, skills and attributes that ESSA and the broader industry recognise as necessary for the delivery of safe and effective services, and to be recognized as an allied health professional.
The draft standards can be found by clicking here.
Consultations have now closed as of 18 December 2020.
Questions can be directed to the ESSA Office on email@example.com or 07 3171 3335.
National Safety & Quality Primary Healthcare Standards
The Australian Commission on Safety & Quality in Health is developing National Safety and Quality Primary Healthcare (NSQPH) Standards to assist primary healthcare services to minimise the risk of harm and improve care for patients.
This will impact services including those provided by allied health professionals across public, private and non-government sectors (such as private practice) in settings including:
- Home visits
- Residential aged care facilities
The standards are expected to be released in 2021 with an accreditation process following thereafter.
ESSA is providing a submission on the draft standards and needs to hear from you about how this will impact your business.
Read more about the standards on the Commission’s website here.
Provide your feedback to Carly Ryan, Standards Manager on firstname.lastname@example.org by 15 January 2021.
