The Sports Science Industry Development Plan: 2020—2025 has been created in consultation with sports science professionals and under the guidance of Exercise & Sports Science Australia’s (ESSA) Sports Science Advisory Group.
The Sports Science Industry Development Plan sits under and complements the ESSA Strategic Plan. Where the ESSA Strategic Plan recognises all of ESSA’s accreditations, the Sports Science Industry Development Plan focuses specifically on ESSA Accredited Sports Scientists and Accredited High Performance Managers.
Four overarching strategic priorities will be put into operation starting 2020 for completion by 2025. ESSA’s Sports Science Advisory Group will liaise with the ESSA national office to provide operational oversight of the Sports Science Industry Development Plan. Progress reports will be developed annually to coincide with appropriate key project milestones and will be communicated to ESSA’s membership. The strategic priority areas and deliverables will be reviewed systematically every two years in consultation with the ESSA membership as part of a continuous quality improvement cycle.
The overall success of the Sports Science Industry Development Plan will be measured against the completion of the deliverables identified across each priority area, adherence to project timelines and member engagement.
