Arthritis Essentials for Exercise Professionals

Arthritis Essentials is a self-paced online unit of competency, designed to provide exercise professionals with an accessible, evidence based means of professional development for management of arthritis and related musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions. The unit comprises 3 modules – MSK anatomy; the main categories and types of MSK conditions; and best practice management strategies. Each module contains information, graphics, embedded resources and videos, and a quiz. At the end of the three modules there are two case studies to be completed. Each case study involves short answer questions designed to assess understanding of the content through its application to the outlined scenarios. Completion of the online unit, including all reading and assessment tasks, should take about 7 hours. Arthritis Essentials [MSKINF001 Provide information and strategies for musculoskeletal conditions] is a core unit within the nationally Vocational Education & Training (VET) accredited 10168NAT Course in Management of Musculoskeletal Conditions. A Statement of Attainment will be issued for the unit on completion.
