Occupational Rehabilitation: A common sense approach

This one-day course is an introduction and a real-world view of occupational rehabilitation consultancy. If you are new to the industry, considering joining the industry, or have been around for a while, this course will have something for you. The course aims to provide an overview of the main activities of the job, and how to accomplish these in a common-sense, practical, and caring way.  The course will explore the core of occupational rehabilitation, and the realities of initial assessments, workplace assessments, medical case conferences, and return to work plans. 

You will take home practical, real-world skills about:

  • How to plan assessments
  • How to communicate with the worker and the stakeholders
  • What questions to ask and how to ask them
  • How to set rehabilitation and recovery goals
  • What information stakeholders actually want and need

And, you will discover that with effective and caring interactions, occupational rehabilitation consultants can genuinely support the worker, the medical team and rehab support team to achieve an outcome.

With over 15 years’ experience in occupational rehabilitation, Rhea is now actively seeking to share her journey, experiences, and knowledge with her community. Rhea currently consultants with multiple workplace rehabilitation providers, large Government organisations, Australia wide companies, and family operated businesses. The diversity of her portfolio has allowed Rhea the opportunity to experience a wide range of rehabilitation systems and working practices within the industry. Learning from these systems, and from her own experiences, Rhea has consciously focused her career on simplifying the process, and bringing her heart and her humanity to rehabilitation consultancy. When she is not consulting, Rhea also spends time hanging out with her children, running obstacle course races with her husband, traveling, snowboarding, eating and sleeping. This course is Rhea’s first roadshow.
