Feel Your Anatomy

Feel Your Anatomy

In partnership with Stretch Yourself Strong

Feel Your Anatomy is an online course that helps practitioners  master Functional Anatomy by learning how to feel loading patterns of specific muscles across 3 planes of motion, so they can program and teach the best flexibility and strength programs, and develop coaching cues that engage their clients. Students will gain clarity on how functional movement plays into their assessment and programming, through understanding how to apply anatomical knowledge and human movement principles on a moving living body, starting with their own.

Functional anatomy is the key to creating effective programs and being able to create coaching cues with your clients that actually make a difference. This course will support you by;
  • Expanding knowledge of functional anatomy and ensuring proper use of this knowledge in a real-world application.
  • Applying theoretical knowledge to assessments, programming and cueing.
  •

    Learning Modules

    The course contains 4 Modules, all of which contain a quiz which requires a 100% mark to progress.
    The objectives of the course are listed below;

  • Understand 3 planes of motion the body moves in
  • Understand muscle anatomy
  • Understand the mechanism of muscle contraction
  • Understand how muscles are named
  • Learn Latin roots/terminology
  • Understand the bi-articular nature of the hamstring and quad muscles and how this impacts ways the muscles may be loaded at origin and insertion.
  • Understand terminology as it relates to the hamstring and quad muscles
  • Name the origin and insertion of the quad and hamstring muscles
  • Understand the actions of the quad and hamstring muscles
  • Understand how the quad and hamstring muscles eccentrically load in 3 planes of motion
  • Understand the joint movements that the quad and hamstring muscles decelerate
  • Learn how to feel how joint movements load the quad and hamstring muscles in specific planes, and ho two manipulate tension through joint movements.
  • Learn how to create 3 plane loading in the quad and hamstring muscles through movements of the pelvis and lower limb
  • Understand common training and programming myths related to latissimus and pectoral muscles
  • Understand terminology as it relates to the latissimus and pectoral muscles.
  • Name the origin and insertion of the pectoral and latissimus muscles.
  • Understand the actions of the pectoral and latissimus muscles.
  • Understand how the pectoral and latissimus muscles eccentrically load in 3 planes of motion.
  • Understand the joint movements that the pectoral and latissimus muscles decelerate.
  • Learn how to feel how joint movements load the pectoral and latissimus muscles in specific planes, and how to manipulate tension through joint movements.
  • Learn how to create 3 plane loading in the pectoral and latissimus muscles through movements of the pelvis and lower limb.
  • Understand terminology as it relates to the adductor and glute muscles.
  • Name the origin and insertion of the glute and adductor muscles.
  • Understand the actions of the glute and adductor muscles.
  • Understand how the glute and adductor muscles eccentrically load in 3 planes of motion.
  • Understand the joint movements that the glute and adductor muscles decelerate.
  • Learn how to feel how joint movements load the glute and adductor muscles in specific planes, and how to manipulate tension through joint movements.
  • Learn how to create 3 plane loading in the glute and adductor muscles through movements of the pelvis and lower limb.
