Injuries in the workplace can be costly and time consuming. The Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator is an important part in minimising the effect on injured workers and employers. A skilled Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator can help get injured workers back to work faster, achieve better long term outcomes and can better manage difficult cases.
To understand how to achieve these outcomes it is important to have a thorough understanding of the systems you operate in. This includes understanding the legislative framework, the solutions to barriers of effective rehabilitation and the service providers who can help you achieve these outcomes.
This course is aimed at members involved in the processes of managing injured workers in the workplace. It includes understanding and applying relevant legislation and procedures to ensure compliance in workers’ compensation applications and injury management processes. The course focuses on the early return to work principles, effective engagement of rehab providers, development of suitable duty programs, effective workplace communication, case and system review techniques and continuous improvement.
