The Stay Standing Program is a national quality accredited falls prevention program for older people and member of the government’s Healthy Living Network. There are 2 Stay Standing training levels:
Silver Level training is a live workshop for the community based aged services workforce. On completion of the online training and the live workshop, the fitness, health and community workforce can deliver The Stay Standing Program to groups of older people living in community. Organisations sponsor their workforce to deliver the program in community settings.
You will earn 9 ESSA CPD points and learn:
- How to recognize an older person at risk of falling
- What works to reduce falls risk
- How to deliver Australia’s only national quality accredited falls prevention program, to help older people manage their own falls risk
Monique Kurdian – Physiotherapist, Trainer and Project Manager
Monique Kurdian combined her Physiotherapy and project background to design The Stay Standing Program to promote independence and prevent unnecessary suffering resulting from falls injury. Monique is experienced in public, private and NGO health, large scale health promotion, capacity building & health infrastructure project management. She knows that with the right training and support, the community workforce can teach older people and their Carers to manage their falls risk in sustainable partnerships with Primary Care. Monique leads the Stay Standing Master Trainer team.
Tim Douge – Accredited Exercise Physiologist
Tim is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist specialising in lifestyle modification programs for people with chronic diseases, injuries or other barriers. Tim has experience working with aged populations, athletes, people with disabilities and chronic diseases. Tim provides expert support for people wishing to improve their health and fitness as well as implementing health and wellness programs and presentations for corporate groups.
Bronze Level (online) training is the pre-requisite for Silver Level (Train the Trainer workshop) training. The live workshop is suitable for attendance by the aged services (fitness, health and community) workforce. Completion of training enables delivery of the Stay Standing Program to groups of older people in the community. An organizational license may apply.
