Our Members


ESSA’s exercise & sports science professionals are degree qualified and can provide services for:

  • Community health (outpatient programs, public health initiatives)
  • Community fitness (prevention of chronic conditions, skill based fitness programs)
  • Corporate health (health checks, education, occupational rehab)
  • Chronic conditions (management of; lifestyle changes; rehabilitation)

  • Disability services (maintaining mobility and activities of daily living)
  • Aged Care (maintaining mobility and activities of daily living)
  • Athletes (sport & high performance)
  • Research (physical activity & exercise)
  • Education (health & well-being, physical activity advice, 

ESSA members are made up of four distinct groups:


Accredited Exercise Physiologists 

Specialise in clinical exercise prescription for the management of chronic conditions


Accredited Exercise Scientists 

Specialise in exercise prescription for health & fitness, wellbeing, performance & prevention of chronic conditions


Accredited Sports Scientists (Level 1 and 2) 

Specialise in athlete & team specific exercise services (e.g. testing, prescription, analysis, injury management) to support and enhance performance 


Accredited High Performance Managers 

Specialise in leading high performance programs of a sporting team, organisation or club
