This 2 day workshop is designed for Accredited Exercise Physiologists who work or wish to work with clients who experience chronic lower back pain. The program will take you through the initial consultation, assessment, testing protocols and procedures. Delegates will learn effective programming principles and be taught how to design effective rehabilitation programs for patients with chronic lower back pain.
The program is designed to take you through a clinical experience of what to expect with real clients with genuine pain and functional limitations from your initial meeting to implementing correct exercise prescription for various lumbar spine pathologies.
Mark has specialised in Exercise Physiology since 2000, developing areas of expertise with injuries to the lower back, shoulders, neck and knees and has gained extensive experience in dealing with clients with complex neural conditions. With an interest in assisting clients with PTSD, anxiety and depression in coping with their condition through the use of effective exercise techniques. Mark was one of the first AEPs to become accredited with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and has assisted clients with Muscular Dystrophy, Cerebral Palsy, Stokes, Acquired Brain Injuries, Amputation, Para-plegia and Gillian Barre Syndrome.
Mark is also a qualified Rehabilitation Pilates Instructor and has an excellent and comprehensive understanding of the involvement of core stability in the rehabilitation of all major injuries. He is also a Pilates educator, delivering government accredited Pilates courses including short courses and Diploma level. His knowledge in the development of exercise routines incorporating core stability ensures that clients have a high success rate in improving their conditions.
