Name:
Cailen Lee

Job title: Onsite Exercise Scientist

Company/Organisation:
EMP Onsite, working as a contractor with Australia Post.

How long have you been in the role?
I have been in the role since finishing my last exam, so all in all, about 10 months now.

Give us a brief background on your career to date?
I graduated from my bachelor degree at the end of last year, and immediately started looking for work. Luckily I managed to find a position, applied and got the first job I applied for! So far, I’ve been working here for 10 months and loving every minute.

What have been the highlights?
The highlights have been working with the AEPs in my company to help the factory workers of Australia Post to achieve fitness goals they never thought possible, and providing them a better quality of life through exercise.

Any low lights?
The only low lights would be having to move out of my home suburb to go to work.

What are you plans for the next 3-5 years?
Next year I will be going to study my Masters of Clinical Exercise Physiology with the intention of owning my own exercise physiology clinic by the time I am 30.

If you could name 3 skills, you need for your role what would they be?
Organisation, excel proficiency and communication skills.

One piece of advice you would give a student?
You may be a slacker, or not enjoy studying but as the degree progresses, it gets much harder. It’s best to get in good study habits in year 1 and 2 before the crunch year!
