Courses with Full or Provisional Accreditation Status

Important information for graduates from accredited courses:

Students who have completed a course of study that has been awarded a provisional (Prov) accreditation status are eligible to obtain accreditation credentialing with ESSA, up until the provisional accreditation Expiry date. After this date, it is expected that the education provider will have complied with all conditions applied to the accreditation, and the accreditation status will be transferred to full accreditation.

All students enrolled in a course of study during its period of full accreditation are eligible to obtain accreditation credentialing with ESSA. This includes courses that are discontinued.

Where courses have a provisional accreditation status, but the accreditation Start date is some years ago, the course would have been submitted for re-accreditation, and one or more conditions will have been applied to the accreditation as an outcome from the re-accreditation process. Provisional accreditation was only introduced as an accreditation outcome from 2018. Consequently, students who graduated prior to 2018 from a course where the accreditation Start date is some years ago, but currently has a provisional accreditation status, can be assured that when they completed the course it would formally have held a full accreditation status and that they are eligible for accreditation credentialing.

Graduates from any ESSA accredited course should use the ESSA Accredited Application Form when applying to ESSA for accreditation credentialing. However, depending upon when the student completed the course, ESSA’s Recency of Practice Policy may apply.

Important: Course accreditation is campus-specific. If you have completed a course of study that is listed, but the campus at which you completed the course is not listed, then the course at that campus is not accredited.
