Exercise for People with Breast Cancer Webinar - Part 1

The first of a two-part series, this webinar delves into the critical role of exercise in enhancing physical and mental well-being throughout the breast cancer journey.

Exercise Considerations for People Diagnosed with Breast Cancer Webinar - Part I

This webinar is the first in a two-part series designed to offer best practice recommendations and guidance from the most recent research for individuals affected by breast cancer, including patients, survivors, caregivers, and healthcare professionals. This first webinar delves into the critical role of exercise in enhancing physical and mental well-being throughout the breast cancer journey.
This PD begins by providing context through considerations of the impact of breast cancer and setting the stage for the importance of exercise in the recovery and quality of life for affected individuals.

The webinar emphasises the multifaceted benefits of exercise, spanning physical and psychological domains. Attendees will gain insights into evidence-backed research affirming the positive outcomes of incorporating meaningful exercise into their own recommendations.

Presented by Dr Caitlin Fox-Harding

Dr Caitlin Fox-Harding is an early career researcher and academic working towards achieving an independent and self-sustaining career in exercise medicine. After having her PhD in Exercise and Sports Science conferred in October 2019 from the University of Sydney, Dr Fox-Harding began as a teaching-research scholar at Edith Cowan University in December 2019. Her doctoral research emphasised the need, and capacity, for young people with severe psychiatric disorders to engage in high intensity interval training as part of adjunct treatment. Her lifelong passion for the intersectionality of exercise and health stemmed from over 15-years of being an elite athlete (a former Australian Team member for the Olympic sport of fencing) along with her undergraduate education from Brown University (USA) in Public Health. Dr Fox-Harding has been privileged to be surrounded by experienced mentors within the fields of exercise medicine, oncology and mental health and continues to develop her research through her own supervision of PhD and Masters by Research students.
