Presenters
Eva Boland, AEP, AES, ESSAM
Eva is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist working in multidisciplinary private practise where she specialises in musculoskeletal rehabilitation and women’s health. With 16 years’ clinical experience, Eva’s professional mission is to translate research to practice using a biopsychosocial approach. Eva has been an invited clinical educator at the University of Canberra since 2016, is a member of numerous ESSA professional committees, and was the ESSA ACT Chapter Chair from 2016-2019. Eva’s specialises in treating polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), peri and post menopause, osteopenia/osteoporosis, and endometriosis. Outside of the clinic, Eva is obsessed with mountain biking and exploring new places.
Robbie Costmeyer
Robbie is the Secretary of the ACT Masters Athletics Club. Robbie has completed 15 marathons and am a Griffin (one who has completed at least 10 Canberra marathons), many more half marathons, over 150 Veterans Athletics and Masters Athletics monthly handicaps, some 230 Park Runs and compete regularly at Track and Field. He has been successful in a number of World Masters Athletics Championships and World Masters Games. Robbie will graduate to the next age group M75-79 in December and plans to compete in the Australian Masters Athletics Championships in Brisbane in April 2022, Covid permitting.
Dr Jayanti Gajra, MB.BS
Has completed postgraduate training in internal medicine (written and clinical examinations for the FRACP) as well as 2 years of Geriatrics Advanced Training. Current Pain Fellow at the Canberra Hospital
Jayne Hardy
Jayne is the current Vice President of the ACT Masters Athletics Club. After a seventeen-year break from athletics, Jayne started in Master’s athletics in 1997. Jayne sought out Ray Green (an accomplished Masters athlete & level 3 Coach) to became her coach and she have been coached by him since then. They started with a 2-year plan! Ray and Jayne's physiotherapist have helped her all these years through her injuries and have helped her with her cross training, weight training, training schedule, throws training and rehabilitation.
Dr Joe Northey
Joe Northey is an Assistant Professor within the School of Rehabilitation and Exercise Science at the University of Canberra. His research focuses on understanding the role of physical activity in neurocognitive function, particularly investigating ways to optimise the prescription of exercise in the context of the ageing brain and oncology. Northey’s emerging research has already substantially impacted national and international public health guidelines, including the WHO Guidelines for Risk Reduction of Cognitive Decline and Dementia. Joe teaches exercise physiology and lifespan development while providing lectures and content in areas of expertise around physical activity and neurocognitive function.
