This presentation will provide real world insights into the role of Accredited Exercise Scientists, Exercise Physiologists, Sports Scientists and High Performance Managers in a school setting.
Long-Term Athletic Development in Schools. Developing Both Ends of the Spectrum and Everything In-between Webinar
In a school setting, supporting the physical development needs of all students remains a priority to help build physical skills and capacities for life. This presentation will talk through and display a framework set up at Wesley College that encompasses the support provided for those requiring physical intervention, all the way through to aspiring Olympians. This presentation will have a mix of science, real world challenges and the outcomes of our problem solving in each part of the athletic development journey. A focus on staffing structures and opportunities arising in schools will also shine through, further highlighting the importance of organisations like ESSA.
Presented by Dr Daniel Hiscock BExSSc, PhD, AES, ASpS1, ASCA 2
Daniel is a professional strength and conditioning coach, exercise and sports scientist with 11 years of experience coaching and educating a wide variety of individuals. Much of his work to date has been in high performance athletic development and applied research projects. In the past 4 years Daniel's career pathway has shifted to a greater focus on athletic development across the lifespan, including measurement, reporting and intervention for children as young as 3. Daniel loves to apply the basic principles of training, regardless of age, and keep close to scientific principles to ensure the programs are run efficacious. He loves his work, and hopes his passion shines through most when working with others.
