Meeting Exercise Science Accreditation Requirements

Applicants for exercise science accreditation (AES) or a Graduate Entry (GE) assessment with a ‘not yet met requirements’ outcome may reapply after undertaking further study or practicum hours to address the outstanding requirements.

For applicants requiring further study: University study must be undertaken at the minimum of a Bachelor’s degree level or above. This may be completed as part of a university course (ESSA-accredited or non-accredited) or as non-award units.

For applicants requiring further exercise science practicum: ESSA recommends approaching your current or prospective education provider to discuss options for additional practicum placements. Practicum requirements may also be met through workplace experience, provided the experience is appropriately documented and meets the requirements outlined in the Practicum Guide.

Meeting Exercise Physiology Accreditation Requirements

Applicants on the International EP Pathway who are not able to meet the AEP requirements will need to undertake an ESSA-accredited undergraduate or postgraduate exercise physiology course. All domestic graduates must complete an accredited course, including those with another allied health qualification, such as physiotherapy.
